Your eligibility to salary package the Meal & Accommodation Card will depend on:
- Your employer’s industry sector (only Rebatable, Public Health and Charitable employers
are eligible);
- Your employer’s salary packaging policy;
- Your personal financial circumstances.
Your Meal & Accommodation Card can be used worldwide at any qualified dining venue, accommodation facility or
function centre that accepts VISA credit card, for the payment of eligible meal and accommodation/venue hire expenses.
You can salary package up to $2,650 in real dollars per FBT Year (equal to $5,000 Grossed Up Value) towards the
Meal & Accommodation Card. This is based on new legislated capping limits on the combined expenditure towards
meal entertainment and accommodation/venue hire expenses.
On a per paycycle basis, the $2,650 limit per FBT year equates to:
- $50.96 per week
- $101.92 per fortnight
- $220.83 per month
The savings and advantages you can achieve through salary packaging the Meal Entertainment
Card will vary according to your employer’s FBT status, and your personal financial
circumstances.

The Meal & Accommodation Card is subject to its own separate cap limit per FBT Year and therefore it will NOT
contribute towards your standard $30,000 or $17,000 Concession Cap (ie. the limit of fringe benefits that you can
salary package with your FBT concession). The separate cap limit applicable to the Meal & Accommodation Card allows you to achieve
increased tax savings where you have already used your entire FBT Concession Cap towards other salary packaged fringe benefits.
You can check your balance via any of the following methods:
- Westpac ATM
- Westpac Live online portal or mobile/tablet app
- Call Westpac on 1300 650 107
Yes, you can order a secondary Meal & Accommodation Card under Section 2 of the Westpac Cardholder Request Form. An
Additional Cardholder Fee of $5.50 per month per card will apply to each secondary card. Additional card holders must also
complete the 100-point ID Check at a Westpac branch (if not an existing Westpac customer) and must record their 8-digit Westpac
Customer Number on the application form.
You should refer to your employer's Salary Packaging Handbook for Employees to confirm any other fees that may apply for provision of the
Meal & Accommodation Card fringe benefit.
Please note, some merchants may impose their own surcharge for paying via VISA debit card. Furthermore, if you are making any payments overseas
or in a foreign currency, please be aware that a foreign transaction processing fee of up to 3% of the transaction value will apply.
Any unspent funds each paycycle will accrue towards your Meal & Accommodation Card
for future use, as and when you use the card for eligible meal entertainment expenses.
At the end of each FBT Year (31st March) any remaining funds in your card account
are rolled over for use in the following FBT Year. Where any funds are rolled over
into the new FBT Year, your regular salary deductions towards the
Meal & Accommodation Card will continue at the usual deduction amount.
